As we stated earlier, Chiswick’s community feels strongly about its architecture. Because of this, the majority of homes are indeed more red-bricked and bygone than most other London areas. Chiswick has an old-fangled feel about it, merged with the modernity of the nearby High Street. Walking the streets you’ll find terraced homes, beautiful Victorian cottages and cultivated Georgian riverside homes. Pretty period buildings also house local businesses, such as the esteemed La Trompette restaurant, a local favourite.

Not only do Fullers make great ale, but they also host great tours. You can swing by for a day and learn all about their processes, history and brand. Also, there are various memorabilia available in the form of glassware, so you can enjoy a pint of Fuller’s ale in their very own glass!
As well as its Edwardian appeal, Chiswick is known prominently for its comedy scene. The prized local pub The George IV hosts the Headliners Comedy Club, who have their own website detailing events and such here. Comedy and joviality are clearly treasured by the Chiswick community, furthered by the fact that Ant and Dec themselves have made the area their home.
Finally, other notable names include the Chiswick Playhouse and Sipsmith the distillery. The Chiswick Playhouse is a cosy little theatre nestled above the Tabard public house. The theatre offers plays, musicals, comedy shows, cabaret and musical concerts. Meanwhile, Sipsmith is a well-known gin distillery popular for its tours and tastings. When the pandemic loomed, Sipsmith switched to virtual tours to cater to its residents stuck at home. All in all, the attractions and their owners owe their popularity to their bond with the local community. SPORTS AND OUTDOOR SCENES
There is a multitude of options for the sportier of us out there: golf courses, rowing clubs on the river, tennis courts and local soccer are just a few. Dukes Meadows Golf and Tennis is a popular local favourite, though there are also gyms such as The Hogarth Club and Virgin Active available for those looking for something a little more intensive.
SCHOOLING AND CHILDRENS ACTIVITIES
Chiswick is popular for its local parks, with Bedford park being a local favourite, in particular, making it a great space for little ones to play and grow in. As well as this, the schools in Chiswick receive great praise. Not only for their general education but for their creative scene as well. Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber is president of a prominent performing arts school there, namely the Arts Educational School. There is also the esteemed Chiswick Theatre Arts.
