A lovely neighbourhood in southwest London, Putney is a leafy and delightfully mellow place to live. Locals adore its riverside location particularly. A very family centred area, popular also with young professionals, Putney is easily accessible (only 20 minutes to London Waterloo on the train!), hosts a wide array of amenities and is home to warm and kindly locals – and that’s only a few of its benefits! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

FAMILY FRIENDLY<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

One comment many locals make about Putney is its child-friendly and family-oriented nature. With its luxuriant location, young families have endless outside space to play and spend time together in. There is a great deal of child-friendly activities and venues available also. These include, but aren\u2019t limited to: an Art Academy, Kung Fu Centre, Ballet classes and even a baby music school. The restaurants and cafes have adapted to their community, with ample pram space and a wide array of children’s menus for when the family fancies a day out together. Many young families migrate to Putney for this reason, as well as the fact that Putney is a very safe community with easy access into central London for commuter parents. Young ones are sure to have a secure upbringing here, surrounded by friendly locals, diverse educational opportunities and the bounty of nature at their doorstep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DOWN BY THE RIVERSIDE<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Putney is neighboured by the Thames, therefore, many of its restaurants and bars take advantage of this fabulous location. Sit and dine by the riverside and take in the views as you enjoy some pub grub. Otherwise, a lovely fresh-brewed coffee. Putney was also where the annual University Boat Race began. Spectators can themselves make the most of the riverside pubs as they cheer the boats on. A SMORGASBORD OF AMENITIES<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Putney is home to a bustling high street brimming with chains and every amenity you could need. Shops, supermarkets, boutiques, hairdressers, gyms, pubs and so much more. Locals comment often on how they are still discovering new places to dine, even after multiple years living there! They also fondly note that you barely need to go far from home on the weekend. This is because there are a wide array of venues at your doorstep. However,\u00a0Putney isn\u2019t home to a majority of independently owned stores or restaurants. As mentioned earlier, Putney is neighbored by multiple green areas. Wandsworth Park, Putney Common and Putney Heath to name a few. This means that not only are its locals treated to the beauty of nature on their doorstep, but this also paves the way for multiple opportunities for sports and fitness activities. Locals often partake in cycling, rowing, sailing and the like. Because of Putneys riverside location, exercising along the bank is a popular choice, so you can take in the scenery as you engage in your favourite sport or fitness routine.
